There’s been a late change in the kissa schedule for this week. Tomorrow night, Sam Stephenson will be spinning records in place of Grayson Haver Currin, who has a conflict and is looking to fill a new date in the future.
Stephenson will be playing music from the Big Ears Festival, which Rock Fish Stew has documented the past two years and will document again in 2016. Expect Kamasi Washington, Jonny Greenwood, Laurie Anderson, Steve Reich, Grouper, Steve Gunn, Joe Henry, Holly Herndon and more.
In addition, expect to hear the great Sonny Clark, whose records were a defining presence in the classic Japanese kissas of the 1960s and 1970s, according to the novelist Haruki Murakami.
